Oak Brook, Illinois – Krusinski Construction Company is excited to begin transforming a 14,446-SF vacant space on the first floor of the Medical and Legal Arts Building into a modern daycare center for BrightPath Kids, one of North America’s largest childcare providers with over 230 centers across the U.S. and Canada.
This marks our first redevelopment project for BrightPath Kids, repurposing a former medical office facility into a state-of-the-art environment designed to support best-in-class early childhood education and care.
The interior scope includes partial demolition and full reconstruction of the first floor. The new space will feature activity rooms and spacious learning areas equipped with advanced classroom technology. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEP/FP) systems will be enhanced to meet the client’s specific needs.
Exterior upgrades include parking lot improvements and the addition of a new playground on the east side of the building. To ensure uninterrupted operations for the second-floor tenants, Krusinski is using a dedicated construction entrance and staging areas.
“Our team is thrilled for the opportunity to enhance and reimagine a building we originally constructed nearly 18 years ago,” said Steve Moeller, Vice President, Preconstruction at Krusinski. “Transforming this medical office into a daycare center highlights our versatility and commitment to client success—especially with an exciting new partner like BrightPath Kids.”
Krusinski originally completed the ground-up, two-story Medical and Legal Arts Building in 2007. The facility previously housed an immediate care clinic for Advocate Aurora Health Sherman Family Healthcare on the first floor, with law offices and conference rooms on the second.
